ABOUT OUR LEADER

JANGBU SHERPA | IFMGA Certified Mountain Guide | Expedition Leader

Expertise Forged in the Death Zone

With over 20 years of experience in the world’s most unforgiving climates, Jangbu Sherpa isn't just a guide; he is an internationally respected IFMGA-certified mountain professional. His career is defined by a Rare "Triple Crown" of experience: the high-altitude mastery of the Himalayas, the technical rigor of the Pacific Northwest, and the remote logistics of Antarctica.

A Career Defined by the Peaks

Trust is earned at 8,000 meters. Jangbu’s technical resume includes:

  • The 8,000m Club: 7x Mount Everest Summits, plus successful expeditions on K2, Makalu, Lhotse, and Dhaulagiri.

  • The Seven Summits: Lead guide for successful missions on the highest peaks of every continent, from Denali and Aconcagua to Vinson Massif.

  • Technical Precision: Year-round leadership on technical objectives like Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, and Mt. Shuksan.

Why You Can Trust Him With Your Life

  • Beyond the summits, Jangbu’s true legacy is written in the lives he has saved. In an environment where seconds matter, his "calm-under-pressure" isn't a slogan—it's a survival strategy.

  • Heroism in the Khumbu: A survivor of the 2014 Khumbu Icefall avalanche, Jangbu immediately risked his life to pull local guides from the debris.

  • The Seti Gorge Rescue: In a feat of legendary bravery, he successfully navigated a treacherous crevasse in Pokhara to rescue a trapped 2-year-old girl.

  • Pioneering Spirit: He helped establish the highest canyoneering route in the world (Naar Phu Valley), proving his ability to problem-solve in uncharted territory.

  •  Latest Achievement: Lead two first ever successful expeditions for a double above knee amputee Veteran on Mt Denali in Alaska and Mt Vinson in Antarctica.

At the End of the Day: The Man Behind the Ice Axe

Despite the accolades and the world records, if you asked Jangbu what his greatest "summit" is, he wouldn’t point to a mountain.

When the crampons come off and the down suit is packed away, Jangbu is a husband and a father. He believes that the true goal of every expedition isn't just reaching the top, it’s returning home. He balances the high-stakes world of technical alpinism with a grounded life in the Pacific Northwest, where he finds his greatest joy in quiet moments with his wife and young son.

He doesn't just guide you to the peak. He ensures you return to the people who love you.
